Trevithick Tuesdays at East Pool Mine!

Close

East Pool Mine will continue to hold their hugely popular Trevithick Tuesday events throughout the summer.

The dates will be as follows;

  • Tuesday 31st July
  • Tuesday 7th August
  • Tuesday 14th August
  • Tuesday 21st August
  • Tuesday 28th August

The day is an excellent tribute to one of Cornwall’s greatest inventors and mining engineers; Richard Trevithick. The man who invented the high pressured steam engine would no doubt be pleased to see the next generation of inventors being inspired.

Trevithick Tuesdays will be a family day of science and craft based activities, learn about the giant steam engines, have a go at making a goose feather fuse, giant bubbles, electro-magnets and the very popular ‘Great Egg Drop Challenge’.

New for 2018 are the social history activities Rag Rug Making and make your own Croust Bag on a vintage sewing machine just like the women of the 19th Century.

For children and adults alike they will be absolutely unique days out with so much to learn and do.
